Bayford and Hertford Nondescripts Cricket Club was formed in 1951 and plays at a very picturesque secluded cricket ground in the heart of the village of Bayford.  It was recently shortlisted by the BBC as one of the 100 best cricket grounds in the country.

The club currently runs two sides on Saturdays playing in the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League.  The First XI are currently in the fourth division and the Second XI play in division nine.

The facilities at the club were rated very highly by opposition sides last year.

The clubhouse was built in 1996 after the club obtained a lottery grant to help fund its creation.  The facilities include a fully licensed bar, kitchen facilities as well as full access and toilet facilities for the disabled.

Social events and barbeques are held at the ground throughout the cricket season as well as occasional events outside the season.  Last seasons events included a curry night and a fancy dress party!

There are two practice nets adjacent to the clubhouse which is open throughout the season for members to come down and practice.

The cricketing facilities are something the club is very proud of.  The square has produced some very high quality cricket matches during the 2002 season including a club record 551 runs being scored in one match courtesy of an excellent wicket and lightningly fast outfield!  There are more to come as three newly laid pitches become available for the 2003 season.

All these facilities are available to club members with no annual subscription and the match fees are just £10 per game.  Concessions are available to junior members, students etc.
